I'm currently a PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Maryland.  My research focuses on understanding how Mycobacterium tuberculosis (the causative agent of human tuberculosis disease) evades the host immune response during the early stages of infection.

Besides research, I'm also interested in science communication, outreach, and leadership opportunities.  Currently, I'm the co-chair of the communications committee for the DC/Baltimore chapter of Women in Bio.
